Perfect Pearls 101 - First Technique

Let's start at the beginning with one of the most basic techniques for Perfect Pearls and that is Dusting. This technique and others I will showcase were taught to me by Robin Beam, Director of Education, Ranger.

1. Gather your supplies -- Perfect Pearl Pigment Kit (Perfect Pearls in any color, Perfect Medium, and Brushes), Rubber Stamps, and Black (or other dark) Cardstock. Stamp image(s) onto cardstock with Perfect Medium.

2. Dust on Perfect Pearls with small, pointed-tipped brush. Be somewhat generous. (The mistake I made, before I took class, was tapping off the excess from my brush before moving to my stamped image.) Don't be afraid to rub it in with your brush tip. (Not too hard -- you're not scrubbing the tub!)

3. You can add all your colors at one time.

4. Take your big brush with a broom-sweeping-action (back and forth), brush off your excess. The Perfect Pearls really do stick to the Perfect Medium. You can take a clean, soft cloth and lightly buff off any remaining excess.

5. Very lightly mist with water to set. Then you are all done. I used a variety of colors including those from the Jewels, Interference, and Pastel collections. For my card, I used coordinating papers from Prism, and stamps from The Stamping Studio.

I hope you liked this one. Stay tuned for more about Perfect Pearls -- classmates, techniques, and more.
